BLOC Louisville is a place of hope for the residents of West Louisville
SOS is a safe place for women who are being sex trafficked, in prostitution, have substance abuse issues, or just need a refuge from the streets.
As a volunteer, you will serve as a welcoming presence and a steady source of support, helping to create a space where every woman feels seen, valued, and respected.
Key Responsibilities
• Hospitality & Welcome: Greet guests with warmth and kindness, offering coffee, conversation, and a listening ear.
• Supportive Presence: Build trust through consistent, respectful engagement—offering encouragement, companionship, and a nonjudgmental spirit.
• Resource Connection: Assist guests in navigating available services, including hygiene supplies, clothing, meals, and referrals to partner agencies.
• Space Stewardship: Help maintain a clean, calm, and safe environment by tidying shared spaces and restocking supplies.
• Team Collaboration: Work alongside staff and fellow volunteers to uphold trauma-informed, guest-centered care.

• Patience, discretion, and cultural humility
• Willingness to learn and serve in a flexible, team-oriented setting
Time Commitment
Shifts are typically 2–4 hours, with morning and afternoon options available. Volunteers are encouraged to serve regularly to foster continuity and trust.
